How Computers Work: The Logic behind!

Image
When I say "world-changing", what is it that comes to your mind? Discoveries? Pandemics? People? Of all these, there is one invention that changed the modern world the most: Computers! What makes the world today different from that of the 18th century or even before that? The use of computers and the services possible through computers, like the Internet!  Computers are made to automate every aspect of human life and maybe eventually represent humans itself.  They are controlling everything in the modern world. From making a phone call, to heavy calculations, discoveries, and implantations within humans!  The breakdown of a Computer (No, not emotional one, it is not stressed): Let's start with what a computer is. According to Oxford Languages, "A computer is an electronic device for storing and processing data, typically in binary form, according to instructions given to it in a variable program."   L

PWA (Powerful WebApp) deployment for Skillocity

As a team which believes in providing our users with the most powerful and easy to use tools, we are announcing a feature which would enable easy access of our blog directly from the home screen of your phone!  You're probably thinking we are launching an app, right? Well we also believe in surprising our audience, and so it is not exactly an app. An app would require extra memory space on your device and would not work on laptops/desktops but only phones/tablets.  Instead, you can now add a shortcut to our blog which runs through chrome, on your device. Usually, if you add a shortcut for a website, it would just add a shortcut to a single webpage you added a shortcut to. But in our case, after extensive coding, we have enabled our user the ability to add a shortcut to the entire website to make it easier to access, without the need of opening Chrome. This makes it feel just like an app! With this feature, you could just have an app like experience for our blog on your laptop or ph

Tennis GOAT Debate

Who is the greatest of all time ? It’s a question that gets posed in every sport from soccer to tennis. Because believe it or not, the only thing fans and the media are interested in, is debates and lists. Tennis is no exception; the world’s best have been competing in the Open Era since 1968. Hence, the list of potential candidates for the GOAT( Greatest of All Time) has only gotten longer. I’ll be talking about the men’s side of the debate in this article cause the women’s side deserves a separate article on it too! When the first decade of the 21 st century loomed, no one could have foreseen that three players would dominate men’s tennis for more than two decades ! For most tennis fans, the GOAT debate revolves around three players which are Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. But have they really done enough to place themselves in a league of their own, head and shoulders above legends such as Rod Laver, Arthur Ashe, Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, Bjorn Borg, Jimmy Connor

Vectors: A Physicist's perspective

PDF file of this document available for download !             Mathematical interpretation of everyday reality of all linear algebra boils down to matrices and all of matrices boils down to vectors – Anonymous V ectors, what really are they? To answer this question, there are three main ways of looking at it. One is the physics perspective; one is the Computer Science perspective and one is the Mathematical perspective. As always, we’re going to explore this topic both on an intuitive and mathematical level. Let’s tackle the Physics perspective in this article which is arguably the most trivial and easy to understand. More complex vector equations and operations will however not be included in this article (although I personally love linear algebra and higher applications of vector fields and tensor mechanics). A vector is a physical quantity that has both magnitude and direction. Some examples of vectors are displacement, velocity, force, electric field, magnetic field, momentum,
